Our initiative will bring renewable energy to 250 communities in key states, including Benue, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, and Nasarawa. By the end of 2025, this project aims to increase our renewable energy capacity by 25 megawatts, deploying innovative mini-grid solutions. These efforts will ensure stable, sustainable electricity, transforming the lives of millions of households and invigorating local economies.

This MoU underscores our unwavering commitment to driving Nigeria’s clean energy transition. Our partnership with REA aligns seamlessly with our vision of implementing innovative renewable energy solutions to reshape the energy landscape and stimulate socio-economic growth in rural and peri-urban areas.

The MoU signing ceremony was well attended by distinguished individuals, including but not limited to the MD/CEO REA of Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria (REA) Abba Abubakar Aliyu; the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nana Nandap; Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Mohammad Sheidu; the Executive Director of Rural Electrification Fund; Hon. Engr. Doris Uboh; and our CEO, Omotayo Balogun among other notable dignitaries.

Justrite Store Abule-Egba System Power 270kwp and 600kwh

Strategic Retreat 2015

The Powercell Annual Strategic Retreat was held on Friday, 23rd October, 2015 at The Resource Place, Akora Villas, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos. The event was graced with the presence of prominent Entrepreneur Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa OFR, Founder/Chairman, Sam Ohuabunwa Foundation for Economic empowerment [SOFEE], and President, Nigeria-America Chamber of Commerce (NACC). Other guest facilitators at the event were Mr. Olumide Ajomale, seasoned training consultant with FTSL, and Dr. Sanyaolu Adebodun, training consultant and Managing Partner at Adkyke Consulting.
The event was filled with lots of brainstorming and analytical sessions, as well as lots of fun. The annual staff awards for 2015 was also held at the event.

Power Systems Consultants’ Forum & Luncheon

The Power Systems Consultants’ Forum & Luncheon was held on Thursday, 7th May, 2015, at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

The event kicked off with a welcome address by the host speaker, Mr. Omotayo Balogun, MD/CEO, Powercell Limited, while the lead speaker, Mr. Ahmad Awad, Regional Sales Manager for MEA, ABB UAE, gave an interesting and enlightening presentation. A presentation was also given by the MD of Powercell on the Powercell Business networks, focusing on the need for more partners to come on board.
The interactive session was active and engaging, ample time was allocated to questions and answers from the Consultants, while a lunch/networking session followed. Another highlight of the event was the customer experience session, where Mr. Toyin Oresotu of Akintola Williams Deloitte and Mr. Wale of Synapse Technologies gave very catchy ‘testimonies’ of their experiences with the ABB UPS systems, which quite caught the attention of many of the Consultants present. The Ashley Edison brand of Automatic Voltage Regulators was also featured.

At the WAPIC Exhibition in Lagos 2014

The West African Power Industry Convention [WAPIC] 2014 was held at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, from the 18th to 19th November, 2014 . It was the first time Powercell Limited would partake of the event.

The day started with an opening keynote session for the delegates. It featured welcome speeches from the Managing Director of the organizing company, Spintelligent, South Africa, David Ashdown, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Power, Nigeria, Chinedu O. Nebo, Chief Director, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Ghana, Thomas M. Akabzaa, Vice President West African Region, Huawei, Nigeria [the diamond sponsor], Shi Wei-Liang, and the keynote address by Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman, Heirs Holdings, Nigeria.

The opening of the exhibition floor, as well as the VIP expo tour, was led by the Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Power, Nigeria, amidst a large pool of pressmen covering the event. The event can be described as a well-organized, specialized exhibition and conference, with top notch companies like KPMG, MTN, Huawei, StanbicIBTC, Eaton, Accenture, Aiteo Group, Mikano, JMG etc., exhibiting their products and services.
Powercell Limited exhibited ABB standalone and modular UPS systems, as well as Ashley Edison AVRs at booth 509; great patronage was recorded.

Executive Launch of ABB UPS in Nigeria

The IT Managers’ Interactive Forum/Executive Launch of ABB UPS in Nigeria was held on Wednesday, 30th April, 2014, at the Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel [VCP], Ajose Adeogun, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The programme started with enlightening and exciting speeches by our two sensational guest speakers, Mr. Gbenga Sesan [Paradigm Initiative Nigeria – PIN], and Mr. Tobe Nnadozie [Heritage Bank Plc.]. Highlights of the event also included the ABB UPS presentation by Mr. Kevin Bickerstaffe, the Global Sales Manager for ABB, [formerly the Regional Sales Manager, MEA], and the product launch session with dignitaries from ABB Nigeria, including the Country Manager, Mr. Talal El-Assad, ABB Switzerland, IT Managers from various sectors of the economy, and the host, Powercell Limited. The interactive session was also active and engaging. It is worthy of note that the event, which was a first for the Company, and the first of its kind for ABB in Nigeria, was successfully implemented.
